FHO+ billing without the time tracking.
Enter your clinic hours when you're done, and Quip will automatically draft your Q-code units, write a summary note in your charts, and create a bill directly in your EMR. Your monthly indirect care and admin caps are tracked the exact way the Ministry measures them.
FHO+ pays for the work you're already doing. Tracking it is the hard part.
gone for every missed 15-minute block
Q310 and Q312 pay $80/hour in 15-minute units. A single unmarked block is $20 you never bill, and skipping a few a week adds up fast.
activity descriptions required for Q312 and Q313
Every indirect-care and admin claim needs a same-day written description. Categorizing each block correctly, every day, is a job in itself.
is all your RA shows you
Your remittance advice reports total FHO+ revenue, not a day-by-day breakdown. By the time it arrives, there's no clean way to reconstruct which hours you missed.
Logger apps vs. one input
Time-tracking calculators are a real step up from a paper log. Quip replaces the logging step with a single input.
Logger apps
Manual timers or time-block entry
You start and stop a timer, or pick a time range yourself, for every single block.
Stamps to paste into your EMR
Generates a record in a separate app that you copy into your bill book by hand.
Its own app to log into daily
You open a separate platform every day and enter your hours there by hand.
With Quip
One input, not manual entry
Charted and billed automatically, directly into your EMR, nothing to copy in by hand.
Written straight into your bill book
Q310–Q313 units land directly in your EMR, with no copy-paste step.
A companion app, not a workspace
You sign into a small Quip window in the background. No data entry, just one input.
How it works with Q310–Q313
All four are billed in 15-minute units, with 8-minute remainders rounding up and a 14-hour daily cap (56 units).
Q310
$80/hrDirect patient care
In-person, video from anywhere, or phone from the office.
With Quip: Charted and billed automatically, directly into your EMR.
Q311
$68/hrTelephone care, out of office
Phone care delivered while physically away from the clinic.
With Quip: Charted and billed automatically, directly into your EMR.
Q312
$80/hrIndirect care
Chart review, labs, referrals, care coordination. Requires a daily activity description.
With Quip: Tracked automatically against your 25% ceiling, with indirect care activities charted automatically for you.
Q313
$80/hrClinical administration
Non-patient-specific roster work. Requires a daily description; capped at 5% of direct + indirect hours.
With Quip: Tracked automatically against your 5% admin-time ceiling.
The 25% cap is monthly, not daily
The indirect-care and clinical-administration cap (Q312 + Q313 combined) is averaged over each calendar month, per OMA guidance, not measured day by day. A heavy charting day is fine, as long as the month balances out.
Money left on the table
Trimming legitimate Q312 hours on a heavy admin day because a daily readout looks alarming, even though the monthly ratio had plenty of room.
Quiet drift toward the cap
Stacking several charting-heavy days without a monthly view, and only discovering the problem at reconciliation. The ratio caps aren't system-enforced until April 2027, so today's overpayment can become tomorrow's clawback.
